Welcome to DCS Breakfast Group
In the Fall of 2010 a couple of Calgary business owners put their ideas together to form a volunteer-run networking group. That group flourishes today as DCS Networking Group. The name arose from a sales mantra – Decide, Commit, Succeed – and that’s exactly what’s happened.
Today, DCS and its members continue to thrive and meet every second Thursday at 7:00 am at Cravings Market Restaurant, 7207 Fairmount Drive, SW, Calgary.
The concept was simple: to bring businesses together to network and form business alliances to the benefit of all. The breakfast meeting is completed within an hour and fifteen minutes (7:00 am to 8:15 am). The only fee is the price of breakfast.
Generally, the group holds to the principle of one representative per business type. Regular attendees enjoy the benefit of business across the table and the full value of networking and referrals based on personal experience and recommendation.
The group continues to attract new members and most meetings are attended by about 20-25 local business owners or representatives.
Each week a roundtable discuss starts the morning by answering the Question of the Day – a thought-provoking question shared with the membership a week prior. ie:
- What is your superpower?
- What marketing strategy(s) have given you the best return on your money and why?
- What book have you read that you give out as a gift to others most?”
Once a member has attended at least three meetings he/she has the opportunity be scheduled as a member presenter – delivering a 15-minute presentation about them and their business.
DCS has evolved around the commitment to represent each other every day in a variety of ways. Meetings remain flexible and informal yet structured enough to benefit the reach of each other’s business.
